Product Manager, Compliance & Onboarding
Role Overview
Cyclops builds the infrastructure layer that lets payment companies offer crypto and stablecoin products to their merchants and end customers. As our Product Manager for Compliance and Onboarding, you will own compliance and onboarding across our entire payment product suite: who gets onto the platform, how fast, and how every transaction stays compliant, in every jurisdiction we operate.
You will own onboarding for our clients, their merchants, and individual end customers, with KYB and KYC flows that satisfy regulators and convert well. Cyclops acts as a KYB orchestrator between our clients and the downstream providers we route through, always reusing existing KYB and KYC data to reduce friction. You also own the compliance suite running under every transaction: sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, risk scoring, fraud prevention, and Travel Rule, across crypto and fiat, built into our products.
This is a high-ownership role at a fast-moving startup. You will partner closely with the Product Director on strategy, and work daily with Compliance and Legal to translate regulatory requirements (MiCA, US MTLs, and emerging-market rules) into product decisions. You use automation and AI to make compliance workflows faster, while handling sensitive data responsibly.
Key Responsibilities
Own the KYB & KYC onboarding product
Own our KYB & KYC product, how we onboard payment company clients, their merchants, and end customers, with KYB and KYC flows that satisfy regulations, like MiCA and FM-GwG, and convert well.
Own cross-provider KYB orchestration
Harmonise and simplify KYB requirements with partners like banks, payment rails, and liquidity providers, and orchestrate KYB between clients and partners.
Reduce onboarding friction through data reuse
Reuse KYB and KYC work our clients have already done on their merchants and customers. Build data-sharing mechanisms to accept existing due diligence where it holds up.
Own the compliance product suite
Partner with Compliance on the roadmap for sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, risk scoring, and fraud prevention, across crypto and fiat, and hold every product to the regulatory bar of the jurisdictions we support: MiCA, US MTLs, and emerging markets.
Own Travel Rule compliance across products
Manage Travel Rule compliance across every product, and keep our approach current as rules evolve by jurisdiction.
Drive automation across compliance flows
Own the roadmap for automating compliance workflows, replacing manual review and repetitive checks with automation or AI agents, from onboarding decisions to ongoing monitoring.
Lead responsible use of AI in compliance
Bring AI into discovery, analysis, and workflow automation across the compliance suite, and handle sensitive and regulated data in line with data protection requirements.
Partner closely across teams
Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, Engineering, Partner Engineering, and Design to deliver products that are regulatory sound, reliable, and easy to use. Work with our Managing Director and AMLO (Anti-Money Laundering Officer) in Vienna, our CCO in the US, and the other Product Managers to keep compliance aligned with the rest of the platform.
Drive outcomes, not features
Define measurable outcomes for every initiative, and use data to guide prioritization, iteration, and investment decisions.
Communicate clearly and proactively
Keep teams and leadership aligned on progress, decisions, risk, and learnings, with visibility into what we're building, why it matters, and what we've validated.
Required Qualifications

- Experience coordinating KYB or compliance requirements across multiple downstream regulated partners, such as banks, payment rails, or liquidity providers.
- Experience designing or working with KYC/KYB reliance, data-sharing, or reusable verification models to reduce onboarding friction.
- Deep understanding of KYB and KYC flows, and how onboarding design affects both conversion and risk exposure.
- Experience owning compliance products such as sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, risk scoring, or fraud prevention, ideally spanning both fiat and crypto rails.
- Familiarity with Travel Rule requirements and how they apply across products and jurisdictions.
- Working knowledge of the regulatory landscape affecting compliance products: MiCA, US state money transmitter licensing (MTLs), sanctions regimes, and AML requirements.

- Strong analytical skills, with comfort in defining and tracking compliance and onboarding performance metrics.
- Effective communicator who can drive alignment across compliance, engineering, and executive stakeholders.
- Uses AI tools daily to accelerate discovery, analysis, and decision-making, with sound judgment on handling sensitive and regulated data responsibly.
Preferred Experience

- Experience working within or alongside a crypto exchange, payment service provider, or RegTech/compliance software company.
- Direct experience with Austria (FM-GwG) EU (MiCA, PSD2, AMLD) and US (state MTLs, BSA/AML, OFAC) regulatory regimes; exposure to emerging market regulatory frameworks is a strong plus.
